Variable area coaxial DSH are suitable for the most severe attenuation applications: very high flows, high rangeability, or very low steam velocity.
The water flow to be injected is controlled by a control valve integrated in the DSH itself.
The variable area nozzles are mounted on a head directly in the steam pipeline, organized in 2 or 3 columns, so as to inject the water close to the axis of the pipeline.
A plug, activated by the valve signal input, progressively uncovers the opening of the various nozzles, whose overlapping makes the regulation curve extremely precise and continuous.
The design of the nozzles allows the water to be rotated and accelerated at a velocity that ensures a fine atomization that provides rapid evaporation of the cooling water.
The combination of CV and number of nozzles is such as to guarantee optimal atomization for any operating conditions.
